Symptoms of Dengue Fever
India is one of the most infected countries when it comes to mosquito borne diseases such as Dengue. Dengue fever is caused by the Aedes mosquito which is carrying the Dengue virus. This is a virus which cannot be transmitted from one person to another but is transmitted only from a mosquito. Even the mosquitoes get infected with this virus by biting a person with dengue. The symptoms of dengue start showing up within 4-6 days of a mosquito bite.
Some of the symptoms of dengue are :
- High fever
- Severe headache
- Pain behind th eyes
- Joint and muscle pains
- Fatigue
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Skin rash
- Mild bleeding
The intensity of the above symptoms varies from person to person and usually last upto 2 weeks. The disease is also fatal in some cases. Doctors can only determine this infection by blood tests.
Currently, there is no specific treatment for dengue except rest, drinking plenty of fluids and taking prescribed pain relievers. Since there is no vaccine to prevent this disease, the only way to stay away from this disease is to prevent bites from infected mosquitoes. Use safe and natural repellents to stay away from this deadly disease.
